25th February 2026
40 Garcians from all over the Uk, Spain, Portugal and South Africa signed up for our special 2026 Reunion at the Imperial Hotel, Blackpool. Given it’s now 20 years since Littlewoods closed its retail doors, and many years longer since some left the Organisation, it’s a true reflection of what Littlewoods meant that so many still enjoy reflecting and coming back year after year. Amazingly the oldest attendees were 85 years old and the youngest just 59!
Whilst the weather ‘forced’ the afternoon walkers into Wetherspoons again, there were no complaints.
Of note during the evening, Jayne Russ (Warcaba)and Graeme Murdoch each won the free stay raffle prizes, whilst consolation prizes of coveted 2011 Reunion Mouse Mats went to Trevor Tenney, John Hoult and Andy Ward. Sadly Tom O’Hare lost his long running crown for ‘Last One Standing’. This was won at 2am by Paul Collis, Mike Tobin and myself!! Tom, however, has reminded everyone that he can be llstened to every week on Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 8pm, by going online at radiocherwell.com.
Meanwhile, as we begin prepping for a 2027 less formal Reunion, we are delighted to welcome Barbara Gillman onto our Committee. Save the date of 24th February 2027. Full details will be published later this year once we have sorted out the venue and location.
Until then, enjoy the photos from Blackpool 2026, with thanks to Terry Murphy for additional pics.
Until next time, stay safe.
David
