Hello again to everyone in Garcia
This update brings two items of news, the latter requiring action, from noon on Wednesday 15th February, should you wish to join in.
First I am delighted to say over 50 attendees have signed up for Blackpool on 1st March for our 21st overnight Garcia Reunion, with a special nod to the Littlewoods Organisation 100th Anniversary. Should anyone wish to still be included, it’s not too late, full details of what to do are on our website www.thegarciasociety.co.uk
Our secretary John Piercy will be emailing the Joining Instructions 10 days beforehand to all attendees.
Second, is to advise that Malcolm Spargo has now informed us there WILL BE a Groupwide Invitation to attend a Moores Family funded daytime 100 year Anniversary Celebration, on Wednesday 4th October 2023, in the prestigious Gino D’Acampo Sky Bar & Innside Building, opposite JM Centre on Old Hall Street, Liverpool
Information for this event will be given on a special website (see link below) which will only go live this coming Wednesday 15th February at noon.
Note Garcia has willingly agreed to help publicise this event, but is not organising or administering the arrangements, which are being performed by Cascade Productions via that website.
The 3 key elements to understand are,
a) As the event is limited to the first 600 names, IF you wish to attend, you need to sign onto the link provided, from noon onwards on Wednesday 15th February, to register your name and division, plus a nominal £20 admin fee
b) You would be attending at the same allotted time others from our Chainstore/Index division would be there. (NB. If you worked in Head Office for stores, you have a choice of being grouped with ‘Head Office’ or ‘Chainstores and Index’ …ensure you click the actual group you wish to be grouped with on the day, with most Garcians probably the latter)
c) Confirmation of arrangements will be emailed to you, from Cascade, for free seating, drinking and dining, in late April/Early May
This is the link, also available on our Garcia website,
BUT IT WILL NOT OPEN until noon on Wed 15th February

Wishing everyone a great Spring/Summer 2023
